VACANCIES FOR VCS (Voluntary & Community Sector)REPRESENTATION ON HEALTH COMPACT STEERING GROUP
The Health Compact Steering Group is currently recruiting for VCS representation. At a time when the Sheffield Health and Local Authority Compacts are looking at forming a single Compact for Sheffield, and the joint Compact chairs board is overseeing the implementation of the VCF Review recommendations this is an ideal time to become involved in influencing he way the sectors work together.
Karl Newell, First Step Trust and VCF representative on Health Compact steering group writes
'Please consider becoming a VCS rep on the Health Compact Steering Group. Your input could really improve the way the NHS and VCF sector work together. I have been involved as a VCS rep and have seen over the past year what a huge challenge it is to jointly provide excellent services to Sheffield communities. If you think how many NHS services and VCS organisations there are in Sheffield you’ll appreciate that a closer working relationship between the sectors can only benefit us all.
The Health Compact works strategically to improve the relationship between the NHS and VCS. Recent health compact successes have included; adoption of 3 year contracts, identifying key improvement opportunities, helping VCF sector understand and implement NICE guidelines, improving the NHS’s understanding of the VCS's contribution to meeting health priorities.
Your involvement would consist of attending bi-monthly meetings, reading and commenting on associated documents and most importantly bringing the benefit of your experience to the table. We’ve achieved quite a lot recently but we could do with more VCS input in order to take this further. I’ve found this a worthwhile use of my time, please come and join us.'
